Privacy policy
Last updated 4 August 2026
This policy explains what Verse Forge collects when you use Tape Room, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read, not skimmed past.
1. Who we are
Tape Room is operated by Verse Forge. When this policy says “we” or “us”, it means Verse Forge. Contact us at support@verseforge.app about anything in this policy.
2. What we collect
Account data: your email address, and your name or profile details if you choose to add them. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and basic profile information from Google.
Content you create: audio you record or upload, transcripts, lyric sheets, section labels, song titles, artist names, genres, linked Spotify or video references, and the visibility setting you choose for each song.
Usage data: counts of songs created and transcriptions run, used to apply free-plan limits and to spot abuse.
Support messages: anything you send us through the contact form or by email.
Payment data: if you subscribe, our payment processor handles your card details. We never see or store full card numbers. We keep your subscription status, plan, billing period and processor customer reference.
3. How we use it
To provide the service: storing your takes, transcribing audio, generating sheets and exports, and serving the song pages you publish.
To operate your account: authentication, plan limits, billing and support replies.
To keep the service working and safe: diagnosing errors, preventing abuse and fraud.
We do not sell your personal data, we do not show third-party advertising, and we do not use your recordings or lyrics to train machine-learning models.
4. Who we share it with
We use a small set of service providers to run Tape Room: cloud hosting and database services to store your account and content, a speech-to-text provider to transcribe audio you submit, a payment processor for subscriptions, and email delivery for account messages.
Providers act on our instructions and only receive what they need to perform their function. We may also disclose information where we are legally required to.
5. Your content and visibility
Songs are private by default. A song becomes reachable by other people only when you set it to unlisted or public. Unlisted pages are not indexed by us but anyone holding the link can open them. You can change visibility or unpublish at any time.
6. Retention
We keep your account content while your account is open. Deleting a song removes it and its versions from the app. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your account data and content, except records we must keep for legal, tax or fraud-prevention reasons.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Email support@verseforge.app and we will action verified requests.
8. Security
Access to your content is restricted to your account through database-level access rules, and data is transmitted over encrypted connections. No online service can promise perfect security, so please keep your password unique and let us know immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.
9. Children
Tape Room is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
10. Changes
If we make material changes to this policy we will update the date below and, where appropriate, notify you by email.
